Cluster diagnostic studies of the greenhouse, local cheese, and honey in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, Georgia

PMO prepared three Cluster Diagnostic Studies (CDS) within the framework of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) project- "Increasing the competitiveness of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region through a cluster development approach." The project's overall objective was to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs in the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti through a cluster development approach. The project's target area was the Samegrelo Zemo-Svaneti region and three clusters, the study focused on the three potential clusters in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region- (1) Tsaishi Greenhouses, (2) Local Cheese Products, and (3) Mukhuri Honey. The in-depth diagnostic studies identified each cluster's main strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) and, for future perspective, helped promote dialogue between cluster-based stakeholders to create consensus around a shared development vision. In the framework of the project, PMO's consultant conducted a validation workshop with stakeholder groups from all clusters. Consultants presented the main finding of studies and discussed the future development potential for each cluster.
