PMO conducted a Business Perception Survey of the Mining Sector
PMO business consulting, in cooperation with USAID project “Governing for Growth in Georgia (G4G)”, conducted a Business Perception Survey in the Mining Sector. The aim of the project is to reveal existing challenges that are currently in place in the Georgian mining industry and to develop recommendations for improvement of industry performance. Together with PMO’s team, local and international mining experts were involved in the project.
The survey covered local as well international mining companies. The results of the survey revealed the most important barriers weakening industry performance at the local level. Also, based on the information provided by representatives of international mining companies, the key factors contributing to accelerating investments in mining projects in Georgia were revealed.
The survey results, together with respective recommendations, were presented to the USAID G4G project team and government authorities, including the National Agency of Mines. The findings of the survey will contribute to the redesign of the local mining industry and accelerate investment in mining projects by creating an attractive business environment within the sector.
